DRC has been the first agency to deliver Appraisal and Revalidation services in the highly challenging area of overseas locum doctors
In 2011, the NHS Revalidation Support Team (RST) worked with 7 medical organisations to deliver a series of pilots. DRC was appointed in September 2011 as 1 of 2 locum agencies selected to participate.
Tasked with testing the Medical Appraisal Guide on behalf of locum doctors who have qualified outside of the UK, DRC Locums successfully trained a team of appraisees and delivered 30 appraisals to the RST from a cross section of international locums in key grades and specialities.
DRC Chief Executive Jonathan Wright commented on the successful pilot “I am immensely proud of our compliance and quality team in being able to lead the agency field in this challenging and important area of patient security and service quality. Our insight and learnings gained through the pilot scheme have already been implemented which gives clients peace of mind and I hope demonstrates that the quality and integrity of the service we deliver is upper most in all that we do. Our appointment to the LPP framework is an important step forward for us and with the diversity of medical locum requirements across the capital together with the current budgetary pressures being placed upon trusts we are committed to delivering value for money within a high quality and secure service”
As part of DRC’s programme to support and advise London Trusts on locum appraisal and revalidation requirements DRC are carrying out a series of comprehensive Revalidation seminars hosted by the company’s senior medical officer Dr Stuart Saunders. The programme kicks off with a client and candidate seminar event on the 21st of April 2012 at the Thistle Hotel, Euston, London. More details of the programme are available from the company – see contact details below

The changing landscape in the way in which temporary or permanent staff are being procured has lead the company to invest in a managed service business to provide full supply chain management and single point of invoicing.
In the last financial year (March 2011) turnover exceeded £65m and the company employed over 100 staff including a dedicated 12 person compliance team.
